  Witnessed our 90 year old neighbors with canes and their daughter offered a booth by hostess then told "Oh sorry , waitress saved this booth for her regulars" -who had just walked in! Then even worse, when another booth opened up I saw her go offer yet another booth to regulars at the bar. Only when they declined it, our neighbors who now had been standing to the side for 15 minutes were seated.
  Appalling. And no one at the bar even offered up a seat. Terrible. For shame.

  My wife and I really like(d) this place. Red Mill has a very limited menu, but what they do serve is very good. We usually order the 12oz NY strip. For a $19.00 steak you would think that it would be substandard. This is not the case at all. It is delicious! I have paid more at acclaimed steakhouses for similar or lesser flavor, tenderness and quality of cook. The mushrooms that accompany the steak are the surprise attraction. They are fabulous! We have had the same waitress twice during a four week span. She remembered us and the wine that we liked. She is very sweet, pleasant and accommodating. Her service was tim;y and we never felt rushed even on a moderately busy Saturday night.
  
  There was one issue that caused us to leave that evening feeling quite sad and disappointed. The Presidential election was the Tuesday before our visit. Our candidate lost and we were feeling a sense of sadness and disbelief. We thought that by going out for a nice dinner it would help us cope. At the later part of our dinner we could hear as well as everyone sitting in the room adjacent to the bar, the bartender loudly pontificating her right wing opinions. Now the bartender, an older gray haired woman, is most certainly entitled to her opinion, but none the less, what she did was obnoxious and unprofessional. We left feeling that maybe we aren't welcome and don't belong here.
  
  So to summarize, four starts for the dinner and up-north old timey ambiance. Five stars for our wonderful waitress. And zero stars for the loud mouthed, obnoxious, unprofessional bartender.
